So I noticed and read all the Fake Patty's Day posts. The idea itself is a financial maneuver by the bars of Aggieville to keep profits that would otherwise be lost due to the real St. Patrick's Day falling over K-State's spring break.

Whether this was started by students or businesses, the practice is utterly deplorable. St. Patrick is credited as bringing Christianity to the Irish people. Getting drunk to "honor" the saint goes against everything that he stood for.

I drew the blinds on my window today and, for the first time in months, looked into our neighbors' backyard. For those of you that remember the week before Finals week last year, I saw it. I don't know whether they added to it yesterday but I imagine that come spring, it will hang from the trees once again.

On a separate note, I found my secret stash of peanuts/cashews, chapstick and gum while searching for my camera.

I watched Ten Questions for the Dalai Lama today. He is an interesting man with an interesting life. His views on non-violence are inspirational to see lived out. I believe that the majority of Christians need to seriously look at how Jesus would approach violence. A good number of his views regarding sanctity of human life, forgiveness, and self-discipline are admirable. He also wrestles with religious doctrine of world religions, which would assume that he is an open-minded man. While he has many noble qualities, his views are lacking in the realms of absolute morality and the identity of Jesus of Nazareth, etc, for reasons that I am unfamiliar with.

Some questions that were raised a couple hours ago...

If you could live in any era, which one would it be?

If you and your mom/dad were the same age when they were growing up, would you be friends?
