on the most immediate note, our water heater is getting fixed. soon mushy and smelly carpet as well as the permeating odor of mildew with be a thing of the past.
i'm interviewing again with friends university. when i find out, i'll give a heads-up as to the date.
today is april fools' day. hehe, last year's prank was pretty good. sorta sneaked up on me this year. watch out you.
wrote a letter to my step-great-grandmother. i forget how she fits in the family tree. we call her Aunt Bee. she's only related through marriage. she lives close to where i grew up as a kid. since i was fifteen, she claimed me as her favorite relative. she's got a lot of stories. my favorite story is about a pet turkey she had as a kid. she had pestered it with a broom or stick or something. one day it fought back and attacked her. she said once in the while she's dream about that turkey. she also makes her own eggnog. i've never been over to her house without hearing her without repetitiously saying how God has been so good to her in the past twenty or so years. that and the phrase "...you know what i mean..." which she uses frequently when telling long stories which usually have details that require healthy explanations.
i read this yesterday in Augustine's Confessions...
"Let them turn and seek you, for you have not abandoned your creation as they have deserted their Creator. (Wisd. 5:7) Let them turn, and at once you are there in their heart - in the heart of those who make confession to you and throw themselves upon you and weep on your breast after traveling many rough paths. And you gently wipe away their tears (Rev. 7:17; 21:4), and they weep yet more and rejoice through their tears. For it is you, Lord, not some man of flesh and blood, but you who have made them and now remake and strengthen them."
