Bacon and Brakes

A great day couple days.

Today, I Spent the day earning a couple stereotypical 'man points' by replacing my front disc brake pads, thereby, acquiring a new life-skill and saving around $140 dollars that a shop would have charged me.

All in all, I'm glad to have spent an afternoon spending time with my dad learning handed-down tips and tricks of the trade. All the while, I was able to use the same tools my grandpa used, likely, do the exact same thing.

Air drills, torque wrenches, and floor jacks are, sometimes, just was a guy needs to get away for an afternoon. Made me feel like this guy.

The caliper bolt...which, despite the use of a torque wrench, I over-tightened causing, well...that.

In other news, yesterday was my roommate, Aaron's birthday. Per his request, Mr. Adam Reck prepared this, Bacon Explosion.

Here's the breakdown: Bacon pieces wrapped in two pounds of sausage, which is held together by a "bacon weave", covered in BBQ sauce. It was fascinating to look at. It was terrifying to eat. Too much going on. After two small tastes, I was done. Wouldn't recommend it.
